Jorge Serodio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva inherited Quinta da Manuela and added 6 more hectares to accomplish what is now Wine & Soul in Pinhao Valley, Douro. The philosophy of Sandra and Jorge is to respect the family traditions and integrating new technologies in winemaking process while conserving the identity of each parcel. Pintas Character is de-stemmed by hand and foot trodden in stone Lagares during the 10-day fermentation. Malolactic fermentation was developed in 50% new and 50% used French oak barriques for 18 months. It is rich, powerful, and approachable. Pintas Vintage Port wines are made from an average of 80 years old vines with more than 30 different Portuguese grape varieties. The aging is developed in an old Port Tonel for 19 months.
